Moments That Don’t Come Twice
Have you ever quietly admired someone, watching them from a distance? Maybe you noticed how beautiful or handsome they are, without them knowing. Or felt drawn to someone in a way that didn’t involve touch or possession—just pure appreciation. I have :))
It isn’t always about romance or finding a partner. Sometimes, it's a simple love for family, a soft spot for a child’s laughter, or a fleeting bond with someone who unknowingly brightens your day. There’s something magical about a genuine smile, so rare and unguarded, that I want to dwell in that moment a little longer.
I’ve never hugged anyone outside of my parents and my closest friends. It’s just my way, and it doesn’t mean I think hugging is wrong. For me, selfless love goes beyond physical gestures. It’s about being fully present and embracing someone’s essence as they are.
And sometimes, it’s just a quiet crush, a secret admiration—watching someone from afar, capturing moments that go unnoticed. I find myself drawn to their small, ordinary gestures: the way they smile, how they talk to their friends, their silences, how they eat or even how they unconsciously adjust their hair. Each little habits, a glimpse of who they are.
I wonder about timing, how some moments come and go without a second chance. Life flows, and sometimes, I think I missed out on certain experiences by not studying in a co-ed school. But life has its own rhythm, and maybe things happen just as they’re meant to.
Then, there are those rare people who feel so real and genuine—no pretenses, just simplicity. And I met someone who feels familiar even though we’ve just met, as if we’ve known each other forever. There’s a sense of ease, like I could open up and share everything, even if it feels a bit awkward for them. And sometimes, I wonder: Has anyone ever felt this way about me? Has anyone looked my flaws, my scars, and seen something uniquely special about it ?
I’ve heard people say that “first impressions are the best impressions,” but what if that first impression goes wrong? Is there really no room for a second chance? We don’t always know what someone’s been through or what they were trying to say in that moment. Sometimes, the way we’re perceived doesn’t show the full picture. Everyone deserves a second chance to express themselves or even to make an impression.
I’ve been in situations where I wasn’t given that second chance. I was labeled as “weird” or misunderstood, but it wasn’t what I intended. If only they had taken the time to understand my side, to ask before jumping to conclusions. We all deserve the opportunity to be truly seen, not just judged by a fleeting moment.
